Undisclosed Olympics Project
Brief
For the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Huge partnered with SK-II to create an immersive experience for visitors to enjoy in the Olympic Village and Downtown Tokyo.
My Role
As a product manager on the project it was my job to work together with our Creative resources to define the user experience, what products need to be created and what the requirements for those products were.
Complication
The project was immensely complex in almost every aspect. The projects core was based around emerging technology developed by an industry leader and that technology had to integrate with proprietary hardware and software developed by the unnamed skincare brand.
The project had to support Japanese, Chinese and English language as well as be sensitive to cultural differences, competitive separation between olympic sponsors and all the requirements that comes with working together with the IOC (such as supporting athletes competing in the Paralympics).
Huge interacted with 5 different partners in 6 different time zones and Huge’s tech integrated with popular messaging services such as Line and WeChat as well as a multitude of proprietary and unnamed APIs from our technology partners.
Resolution
The projects full scope was completed on time by Huge and did meet all the requirements of all involved parties. The experience is yet to be released due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
